Officially launched in October of 2003, SkyWerx is a locally owned Wireless Internet Service Provider (WISP) based in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. Our continually expanding wireless infrastructure has been designed to effectively deploy high speed wireless broadband to the community and surrounding areas of Pagosa Springs. When most people hear the word "wireless" in terms of Internet connectivity, the first buzzwords that pop to mind are "Wi-Fi" and "HotSpot".  While SkyWerx may deploy Internet access to many local "Wi-Fi HotSpots", we specialize in a technology known as fixed wireless or point-to-point wireless.  So what's the difference?  Fixed wireless refers to wireless devices or systems that are situated in fixed locations, such as an office or home.  This means that not just anyone can jump on the SkyWerx network like you would normally do when visiting your local coffee shop with a laptop and a wireless network card.  Our wireless service is deployed to your home or office by our qualified installation team.  The advantages of fixed wireless include the ability to provide Internet access to users in remote areas without the need for laying new cables and the capacity for broad bandwidth that is not impeded by fiber or cable capacities.
